Historic McLeod Plantation under new management

Nestled beside the Maybank Highway on James Island, alongside a bustling modern thoroughfare and just moments away from the country club and any fast food joint, stands the historic McLeod Plantation, named after its late benefactor William “Willie” McLeod.

Obama’s school speech overhyped

On Sept. 8 President Obama delivered a back-to-school speech to students around the nation despite uproarious protests screeched from parents. Was it filled with mind-warping, socialist indoctrination and subliminal “vote for me in 2012” messages? Surprise, surprise, no, it was not.
